Lovin' The Temps

Lounging around with no socks and no shirt has been pretty awesome for Ike this evening! Hope the warmth stays around awhile!

HAPPY EASTER!

Not Too Long Ago...

We put Isaac in the exersaucer thingy to see how it fit. Poor little guy couldn't even touch the floor of the saucer (a good inch or two from it) and got scared when one of the toys made a noise! But now...

He can touch with his tiptoes! (I know, its a little hard to tell in this pic, but trust me, he is touching!) We don't let him play in it for too long...at least until he can fully touch and sit up by himself...but it isn't too bad for a short little change of pace!

Please note the look of concentration on his face. He actually did make the wheels spin a little, which he enjoyed quite a bit! He even was able to turn the little swivel chair to one side!

Our little guy is getting too big!

First Palm Sunday

Not the best outfit/bib choice for our first Palm Sunday...but still pretty darn cute. Isaac also has a cold, so he wasn't his normal smiley self.

I NEED MORE SLEEP OR A NEW KEYBOARD

Apparently the last two times I have added an entry I have spelled Isaac's name wrong at least once. So that leads me to believe that I need more sleep or a keyboard in which the S and the A are not next to each other or to s...l....o....w down with this typing thing until I learn how to spell his name!

A note to Isaac:
I'm terribly embarrassed! I'm so sorry Isaac/Issac/Isacc/Izac/Isic/Izick or what ever your name is...Just know that I love you very much! No matter if I can spell your name or not!

First Day of Baby School

Today was our first day at baby school! Also known as my first day back at work. As we were eating our breakfast, we discussed where we were all going today and what we were going to do. I'm not sure if Isaac got the "first day of school butterflies" or what, but he sure changed into a pretty solemn little guy. He wouldn't smile for his pictures to save his life. We did eek this little, tiny, itty bitty one out of him! You can imagine what the others must have looked like if we are calling this a smile!

We (Justin decided he would go with us) made it to school by about 8:15 a.m. and learned how to clock in/out, met all the teachers again, met some of the kiddos, saw which bed was his, gave them the run down of the quirks of Isaac and then hung around a little longer than we probably should have! But they were really understanding and didn't laugh at us too much!

I made it to work just a hair before 9 a.m. which was my goal, and even had time to stop and get coffee! The coffee was probably not the best idea, I hadn't had any in awhile...so I was a little jittery most of the morning, but it did keep me awake! The gals and Steve were so sweet, they brought me flowers and snacks for our morning meeting. I was a tiny bit afraid that the girls were going to make me cry (I had made it thus far with no tears) but I didn't. I also didn't worry about our little guy too much, but I sure did miss him! Overall it was a good day. I was a tad overwhelmed by being back. I made it through most of my emails (mostly junk or things that were so out of date it didn't really matter)and started trying to figure out where to start. I did skip out on one meeting, I just didn't think I could handle jumping back into it that quick, so Christan and I took a quick walk around the Zoo and took down some old posters. Hopefully tomorrow I will figure out where to start and get back into the swing of things. Maybe, just maybe by the end of the week I will know if I am coming or going!

Justin and I both came home to have lunch. It was a little strange not having Isaac with us, but I'm sure we'll get used to that. I wasn't sure at that point if I was going to stay the entire day or come home early. So we decided if I hadn't left before 4:30 p.m. Justin would go pick up Isaac. At round 4 p.m. I got a call from Justin saying he was going to leave and pick him up...too cute! I stayed at work until 5 p.m. I was a little tired but not doing to bad! We'll have to see how the rest of the week goes!

Justin said that Isaac gave him the biggest smile when he saw Daddy, which was a big relief to dad! His baby school report said that they went for a walk today, he ate fairly well, took one pretty good nap and a shorter cat nap.

When I got home he gave me some pretty good smiles too! He looked like he was pretty tired, so he must of had fun today! We chatted and laughed for awhile and then decided he needed a little rest. He fell asleep around 6:15 and is still asleep...I wonder what that means for tonight!?!!

Oh well, made 9 a.m. won't happen tomorrow...we'll just have to see!

She Is Catching Up!

Yesterday we got to spend some time with cousin Ava, Aunt Sherry, Uncle Kevin, Mimi Mary, Grandpa Jack, Mark (Justin's cousin from Texas)and Aunt Ann! Boy did we have some fun! The folks from Oklahoma weren't staying long, but we spent an hour or two and had some dinner.

Ava is getting bigger, but is still light as a feather compared to Isaac. Sherry said Ava is about 8 lbs. I can't even remember when Isaac was that big...it seems so long ago!

March Madness Has Struck!

We aren't sure if this occurred after a bout of frenzied cheering or if Isaac is trying to impersonate one of the players with the sweatbands! Justin laid him down for just a second and came back to find this...

Isaac has rather enjoyed watching the games the last two games. In fact, he has gotten fussy several times, and when he turns around to see the game he gets nice and calm. I guess there really is something to the ESPN effect! (Thanks Hudson for showing us the way!)

How We Have Been Spending Our Afternoons

Tummy Time is getting better! I think we may have found something that makes it a little more bearable...lights and music. Love that star!

We have also been trying to master the grab and hold. For some reason he liked the green knob...there is a teething ring type thing attached, but he wasn't interested!

Also working on our impression of a bear. Almost got the growl down...

Actually just the tail end of a yawn...but too cute not to add!

We are also still practicing the sitting up with out much support...no pictures of that, mom needs her hands free!

New Project

Isaac and I have decided that we are not only going to work on mastering tummy time, but we are also going to start working on sitting up on our own. As you can see we are off to a pretty good start on at least one of the projects! Still hate tummy time, but it is getting better!

4, Then 5, Now...

5 hours and 42 minutes and a handful of seconds. That is how long Isaac slept last night during the first "shift"! He then slept about two and almost a half for the next shift and then almost three hours before he decided he wanted to be wide awake!

I just read somewhere that pediatricians don't consider a kiddo sleeping through the night until they sleep continuously from midnight to 5 a.m. Personally, I'm not sure I would consider that through the night, mostly because I like to sleep entirely too much...that sounds more like sleeping through the middle of the night! ☺ But I feel like we are making some sort of progress in the right direction!

I had a pretty good night sleep and wouldn't mind continuing this pattern for awhile, but unfortunately I have learned all too well that this may be a fleeting thing. But at the very least I think we have officially moved away from the every two hours bit!

During the day we are going about three hours before we get hungry. I also think Isaac is trying to make the jump from 4 oz at a time to 6 oz. But at this point I don't think he is fully committed to that plan, just yet. Although he did have a full 6 oz this morning, which is a first!
