GGGoooooooaaaaalllll!

Today was our first soccer practice and game! I was pretty impressed with how much all of the kiddos really knew what they were doing! Coach started them off with a little practice before the game. 

Sure there were moments when it looked like the coaches were trying to herd cats, but for the most part they looked like a well oiled machine. 

And then it was GAME time! Ike's team doesn't have a name just yet. So it was a game of blue against white. Blue had two more players than White, so they were able to keep "their legs fresh!"

Ike was quite interested in being anywhere that the ball was. I'm not sure but there may or may not have been some well placed arms to keep others (including his own teammates) off the ball. 

Not that score was kept, this is about learning and teamwork...but I'm pretty sure that his team scored 4 goals, maybe 5. Two of which were scored by Ike! For the first goal (see below) when he finished he turned and kept running up the field in the other direction. I didn't see a lot of emotion (I was working the camera, so I might have missed it.) The second goal he just turned and walked away. I was somewhat expecting some dance moves or jumping, but he played it pretty cool!
 

Overall it was a great day! There is video coming, I just haven't gotten that far yet. Stay tuned!
