Got the Beat?

Last night we went to Salina to catch Isaac's favorite band. I don't know that he really understood exactly what we were going to be doing, but he was excited regardless!

I'm not really sure what I expected to happen when the show started, but Ike's reaction sure was subdued! He sat on Dad's lap the entire time, facing forward, eyes glued to the stage, not much of a smile. I guess I thought there might be some singing, maybe a wiggle or two and a little clapping. During intermission he came alive, he was all smiles, did a little dancing and kept asking "Where the Fresh Beats are?" I think that means he was having fun, despite his seriousness!

You might also note that the photo has him wearing a blue shirt, we ended up swapping it out for a green one that had all four members of the band on it. He seemed to really miss the girls on the blue shirt! Thanks to Sissy Ann for the t-shirt (or at least the Valentine's Day money!)

And a BIG THANK YOU to Nana and Papa for the awesome birthday/Christmas gift!

Family Pics

It was time to do the 2-year-old and 6-year-old pictures of the boys. And while we were at it, we thought we might do family pics. So here are a few of the better ones!

When you ask Isaac how old he is, he goes with the non-universal symbol for two! The above pose is another one of his non-traditional twos!

And probably the most important picture...the whole family. The last one had done in an official capacity about 100 years ago when TyTy was like 10-years-old. So it was long over do!

What a bunch of cuties!

More Big Boy

So I continue to be a little behind. But to be perfectly honest...it's gotten harder and harder to get a quick pick of the young man! He tends to move a little too fast! But a few Saturday mornings ago he set still long enough at breakfast to get a few cute pics.

Little did I know it was crazy hair day! Ike woke up in such a great mood that it was hard not to catch him smiling!

We have been working on using a "Big Boy" cup. He isn't doing too bad, no major spills...yet! But we aren't allowed to leave the table without a lid. Just a little insurance policy we hope will actually use!

He is also learning to use a knife. This only becomes slightly annoying when he wants EVERYTHING cut up, even things that really don't need to be cut up.

I think this may be from the same great Saturday morning. I was dealing with laundry in the other room and this is what I came back to. One young man, trapped with ALL his balls in the soccer goal. Luckily he was able to free himself and move on with the days activities.
