In fact I think she was rather smitten by the old guy! She also might have been too distracted by the piano player to notice whose lap she was sitting in!
Garret, being the old pro, enjoyed giving Santa a bit of a hard time...and tested his memory on what Garret had already asked for on a previous encounter! That boy is too smart for his own good!
