We started of the month with a little vacation. We headed south to Edmond to visit Ava & Eden. We went to the OKC Zoo on what may have been one of the steamier days we had so far. But I think the kiddos really had fun. I-man rode on a carousel for the first time. He rode his zebra like a champ! I wasn't really sure if he would enjoy it or not. But I think by the smile on his face...he really had a good time!
After our overnight and Zoo trip we headed even further down south to Ardmore where we met up with Mimi Hyla and her high school friends. Isaac hung out with them while Dad and I went to see Sting at the casino down the way. Dad and I had a great time at the concert and since Isaac was sound asleep when we got home, I'm pretty sure that he had a great time with Mimi.
Mimi even gave him his very own clown nose! I for one don't think he really needs the nose, he is pretty much a clown every day! Now, you may wonder where Mimi found a clown nose...well the story as I remember it: one of her high school class mates is a professional clown and brought everyone a nose of their very own at the reunion.
Our next stop was Lake Murray for a few days of fun in the sun with the Hart side of the fam. The weather was awesome, the water was low and a good time was had by all.
We got to the lake a little early and went exploring while we waited for the cabin to be ready for us.
From this dock we didn't really notice any water level changes.
But when we got all settled in at the cabin and headed for that dock...we soon realized that the water was A LOT lower than usual. This year the water was about ankle deep in our little cove. We thought it wouldn't be so bad, at least Ike could stand up on his own...but we soon learned that Isaac and Garret really didn't care for the muddy bottom. I thought our fun in the sun was in jepoardy, but the public beach area was shallow, sandy and great for the boys!
Our fun in the sun included:
Feeding the huge fish!
Garret found a baby turtle. See the little round thing by his pinkie.
Kayaking with Papa and Uncle Mike.
Fishing off the dock with his new spiderman fishing pole
Little red plastic fish seemed to be the only things biting!
Suckers on the beach. Imagine that if you will, sticky sucker + sand = one mess of a boy!
The entire gang out for dinner before J, I and I headed home.
