Omaha Bound

We made a quick trip up to Omaha for a little getaway. Justin had a business meeting, so he thought why not make a family trip out of it. So we loaded up the rental car (thanks SJCF for taking on the miles instead of our little cars!) and headed north.

The plan was for Isaac and I to take a rest once we got to the hotel and then head down to the little water park there at the hotel. Great plan...except...Isaac refused to take a nap; when Mom gave up and said lets go to the pool, he exclaimed "I sooooo excited!" Then we get in the elevator, as we are descending a certain someone decided to hit the "HELP" button. (I know why they put them so low, but really people...why did you have to make them bright yellow and so darn eye catching for the little people staring at them!) So after convincing the front desk that there was not an actual emergency (while standing there in my swim suit and cover, no less! Thank the Lord it was a low capacity Monday!) we proceeded to the water park.

Let the fun and laughter begin...WRONG! One loud noise from a giant, dumping bucket and we spent a hour in the furthest corner of the pool, away from any monster buckets, dangling our dainty little toes in the pool. I tried everything I could to convince him that he would have so much fun in the fountains and slides, but no way was he going over there! I won't bore you with the rest of the details of that evening, but let's just say that one exhausted 2-year-old + no nap (not even on the car ride)= one long night!

Thankfully Tuesday morning started off with all smiles and giggles (if not some yawns from the two adults!) We headed off to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. Despite having some frustrations regarding the lack of available food locations we had a great afternoon a the zoo. Again I won't bore you with the hundreds of pictures we captured, but I think this one is one for the scrapbook!
