Nails- This actually occurred yesterday, but I am just now at a place where I can talk about it...I trimmed Isaac's nails yesterday morning. Justin was still asleep and Isaac was snoozing too! What a perfect time to trim his little nails. The first four went very smoothly, then it was time for the thumb...and it happened...Isaac's little reflex jerks and my snapping the clippers occurred at the same time, I got the nail, but also got the skin on the tip of his thumb! He screamed and I freaked out...there was blood and tears, but we all seemed to calm down relatively quickly. I have since vowed never to come near him again with the clippers and have told him how sorry I am about a million times. I think he has forgiven me, he is still snuggling with me.
Snot- I have to say the snot suction extractor thingy works really well. Maybe a little too well! The first time I tried that puppy out, I thought I might be suctioning out a little too much! I think Isaac may have had a similar thought by the look on his face!
Malls- We ventured out to the Penn Square Mall today. We had a great time just walking around and trying out the new stroller. It was nice to get out and stretch our legs a little. Isaac was a champ, he slept most of the time and only got a little hungry just before we decided to leave.
The trip itself was not the harrowing part...it was the potential of having to change a diaper in a public restroom! I knew that Isaac was about due for a change, he doesn't really ever let us know when he is ready...so we just try to change him every two hours or so. We were at Macy's, I thought, nice store, surely there would be decent bathrooms. Needless to say I was not impressed, and the thought of putting Isaac (even with diaper pad) on the changing table made me a little apprehensive, not to mention the pressure of having an audience...I was not ready. I am ashamed to admit it...we let that diaper ride a little longer until we got home. I know at some point that just won't work...so I'll have to bite the bullet...maybe our next outing...or not! =)

You need to get some nail scissors to trim his nails. I think every Mom has a nail story so don't beat yourself up. He won't remember. Are you counting down the days? We are ready for Isaac to see his room!
